FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
What sets you apart from other groups?
Doctors choose Apex because they desire a partner who can meet their standards. Apex is designed to support doctors who thrive off building trust and long-term relationships with patients. We recognize that each practice requires tailored and specialized attention to provide the highest level of service to patients. Our support structure is designed to truly take every element of non-clinical practice management and ownership off their plate. Doctors remain important leaders in their practices, but we exist so they can finally have more free time to enjoy the things that are important to them.
What does Apex look for in an ideal practice?
First and foremost, it’s about the people. We look to partner with high-quality people who share our dedication to providing exceptional care and building long-term relationships. We look for doctors and practices that have demonstrated a high level of success, thus giving us a solid foundation on which to continue building.
Is your network regional or national?
We currently support practices in Texas, Colorado, and Oklahoma. Throughout our history, we have always taken a measured approach to growth. The quality of the people and practices is far more important to us than the number of practices itself. That being said, we have aggressive growth plans over the coming years, and we are looking to expand into additional markets and states to help ensure the bar remains high for the people we choose to partner with.
After partnering with Apex, will I have the opportunity to grow my practice?
Apex Dental Partners is always excited to invest in our supported practices to facilitate growth. You won’t find a single Apex doctor who doesn’t feel as though we have made significant investment in their practice.
Who makes the clinical decisions?
Our doctors remain the clinical leaders in their respective practices and continue to make the clinical decisions. We do not count crowns, set production minimums, or require our doctors to perform procedures they’re not comfortable doing. Our expectation is that they continue to do what is right for their patients.
Will I be able to work with like-minded doctors and practice administrators who can share ideas and solve problems together?
The quality and experience of Apex’s network of doctors is truly unmatched. It is the single biggest differentiator between Apex and any other group. The diversity of our affiliated doctors’ procedural skill sets together with an enthusiasm to share knowledge creates a priceless resource for any Apex doctor.

How do patients react to their doctor joining Apex?
The truth is that very few patients ever know a transition has occurred. Since doctors and their team remain with the practice, there really are not any changes a patient should notice. Our supported practices maintain their private practice feel and culture.
Will we benefit from economies of scale as a partner of Apex?
As we build density in a market, one of the greatest benefits to the team and the practice is the availability to share high-quality resources across the group. Team members can benefit from opportunities such as upward mobility, and practices enjoy the flexibility to share resources between locations that otherwise would not be available. We view this as another tool to help attract and retain high-quality individuals. Additionally, our scale provides us the ability to negotiate favorable rates with suppliers and labs, as well as insurance providers.
How do you attract and retain the highest performing employees?
Long term relationships with both patients and staff is the heart of the Apex model and key to preserving the values of private practice. We feel a deep responsibility to provide every team member with the culture, tools, and support they need to be successful. Benefits like health insurance, 401K with company match, short term disability, CE reimbursement, and other professional development opportunities are all tools Apex offers to attract and retain high-quality people. We set out to provide our team members not just with a job, but a career home that feels like family.
As a partner, will continuing education and training be available to me and my team?
Yes, each doctor is reimbursed for continuing education and we offer select CE opportunities for team members.
What is your approach to marketing?
Marketing for your practice is led by our marketing team at the support office. Our marketing team will build a customized marketing strategy unique to your practice. They will spend time getting to know your practice, understanding what has/has not worked in the past, and implementing a marketing strategy aimed at finding the right patients for your practice.
Who handles accounting? Are bills paid for by the doctor?
All finance and accounting is handled at the support office by our accounting department. All bills are switched into the Apex name, received at the support office, and paid for by our accounting department. You will not have to pay another bill!
Do your services include IT support?
Yes, IT issues are managed in-house at the support center by our IT department who are familiar with your setup and can solve problems quickly. We contract with a local vendor for any hardware issues that can’t be addressed remotely.
